Halfords Autocentre Worthing

My daughter went here with her newly purchased 2008 ford fiesta to have a new bulb fitted in her headlamp , bearing in mind she is very happy with her car as she hasn’t had a car for over 4 years and was very excited to replace little things here and there . When the older gentleman went to fit it , he made an off the cuff comment saying “your headlights are very yellow! Why not treat yourself to a new car!!” She wanted to cry ! and now feels like her car isn’t nice or new enough (all from one man’s comment !!)

Disappointed, always had a decent job done from Halfords' but my MOT today was a joke, after being 6 Mins late to my 1.30 time slot and being told “they now couldnt do it and that i should come back at 4” my MOT was abandoned. First of all 6 mins late shouldnt be grounds to cancle a 45 min MOT i think that is pretty poor from them but hey, my fault for being late so i cant complain too much. My car has an oil leak that flared up on the last 4 MOTs as not excessive but after 10 odd mins of leaving my car with the halfords team they had called me to say it was abandoned becuase of said oil leak. What i do not understand is the fact they couldnt finish the whole MOT and then fail it off of the oil leak, i asked if they had looked around and they said they didnt and wouldnt even if i wanted to pay for their time to do so. No effot was made from them offering a day were they could get me back in to have a look and now im stuck with an oil leak and 4 days left on an MOT… My poor review is mainly aimed at the fact they simply do not care, they are such a big company and will always have business that they do not care about helping individual customers, I would generally avoif coming here is you have the option of an independent closer to you, you will actually have someone who is willing to help you!!

Went to this Halfords in October 2022, when I suspected my clutch was going. They carried out a full clutch inspection, and was told very confidently by a mechanic that my clutch was actually 'perfect' and in a great 'position.' He went as far to say that the only reason I was struggling to take off was due to the weight of my passengers. Fast forward to now, I took it to to get seen for a general service at Brighton Halfords, where I was told my clutch was most definitely going. Got a second opinion from another garage who confirmed. Really disappointed by the false information I was given here.

Went to replace a coil pack for my BMW Z4 on 29.05.23 at the Worthing Branch in Broadwater. A couple of days before that one of the technicians did a pre-check to confirm the fault. Once I had it replaced I then paid for the work done and went to my car. I opened up my bonnet and 2 screw cover heads were missing from the cylinder head cover. When I spoke to the mechanic who did the work he basically tried to tell me that they were missing before I brought vehicle in for the work and then said that I may have taken my vehicle to another mechanic to do the work and they must have taken the covers. I stood my ground and he finally said that he was going to order them. As at the date of this review they are awaiting a delivery date from BMW. This was a display of poor customer service and also an example of a bad attitude towards a customer who was basically accused of telling a lie. I have had issues with this place before but on balance the service has been generally ok.
